Westport MA
Westport is another good stop over when cruising between Buzzards Bay and Rhode Island Sound. There are slips and moorings available at F.L Tripp & Sons in Westport Harbor. Walk across the street and down a short path to Horseneck Beach to a long uncrowded beach.
The harbor is a really picturesque place, lined with quaint cottages on the west shore of the harbor. Marshes and bird habitant in both the east and west branches of the Westport river are a great attraction for bird watchers.
The Back Eddy Restaurant is a short walk (or dingy ride, they do have a dingy dock) to some fine dining. If the restaurant is busy, you can enjoy an appetizer and cocktail out on the patio & clam bar.
