Join the New Britain Power Squadron! The New Britain Power Squadron has been bringing together boating enthusiasts in central Connecticut since 1940. We are non profit, educational organization dedicated to making boating safer and more enjoyable by teaching classes in seamanship, navigation and related subjects. Our members are boating families who contribute to their communities by promoting safe boating through education. We enjoy participating with our fellow members on the water and in the classroom. Nationwide, the United States Power Squadrons have some 60,000 members organized into 450 squadrons across the country and in some US territories. The USPS is America's largest non-profit boating organization and has been honored by three US presidents for its civic contributions. By becoming a member of the New Britain Power Squadron, you will receive three different publications on a regular basis. The Ensign is the official monthly publication for all membersof the USPS. It contains up-to-date informationabout the USPS operations, policies, and meetings. There are also interesting articals written by members about their personal boating experiences. Experts in the describe new marine equipment, and there are articals from members of the USPS cpmmitteees about their fields of Endeavor. Sounds of 1 is the award winning publication of District 1. It is published three times a year and is filled with announcments of District Councils, Conferences, and summer activities. In addition, activities on other squadrons that are open to all district squadrons are published here. Nauticalines is the monthly New Britain Power Squadron newsletter. It is the mainstay of communication with the NBPS members. Each issue has a wealth of information about your squadron and USPS. You are invited to contribute articals or to serve on the Nauticalines staff. USPS Boat Insurance An exclusive USPS Boat Insurance Program is administered by the St. Paul Fire and Marine Insurance Company. Based on the premise that USPS members as "preferred risk" policyholders by virtue of their formal education in the care and operation of boats, this program offers very competitive rates for a broad spectrum of coverage. Members Only Courses Members of the USPS are allowed to take a number of Advanced courses to further their boating education. To see a list of these courses, click here. Sound like
